"Great city with beautiful buildings and nice beaches, but the overall experience is ruined by a lot of dirt and trash on the streets and outside the city.
Unfortunately we also had an unpleasant experience at Lido San Francesco beach where several immigrants were asking for tickets after paying at the entrance and they were trying to "upsell" to get a better place, they were just trying to extort extra cash from us.
A few weeks before our Bari trip, we were visiting Okinawa at Orion Motobu resort. I recommend you to visit them and experience how a holiday destination should look and operate. Clean beaches and water, no entrance fees, very good public safety, no trash, no immigrants. Much better value for money."

"We have travelled extensively in Italy, from the north to the south. Bari was a pleasant surprise. The old area is beautiful and clean for how many people there were. The other areas we walked around were nice and clean as well, as opposed to other places in Puglia where we noticed garbage and debris everywhere (even in the country side along all roads). We enjoyed Bari much more than Brindisi and Lecce. "
