"I was pleasantly surprised with how well-kept the historical centre of Bari is and I appreciated that there were not too many tourist shops selling souvenirs made in Asia. The shops I visited had gifts/arts from local artists, which is nice. We mostly stayed in the historical centre and in the centre of the new town, where it was clean and so was the Pane e Pomodoro beach, despite it being central. I appreciated there were a lot of rubbish bins and bins to recycle plastic all over the places we visited."

"Our accommodation was spotlessly clean. Streets and public spaces not so much, as we expected. We were pleased that the replacement bus to Matera was so comfortable and there was plenty of room. We felt safe and had a good visit. "
